Yes Naturally Anselm Kiefer
Hot off the press! We will be displaying work by Anselm Kiefer during the art exhibition Yes Naturally. Anselm Kiefer draws connections in his work between the micro cosmos and the macro cosmos, making his work an almost indispensable part of Yes Naturally’s message.
Dead plants fertilize the soil so that the seeds of new plants can grow, thus becoming part of new life. The Secret Life of Plants suggests, among other things, that the same process keeps the universe going. Yes Naturally provides a wonderful opportunity to experience this process.
Fora & Fauna inspirational gathering
Tue, Nov 6, 2012
“More than seven billion bacteria live in my mouth as I speak. Isn’t it high time that we gave them the floor?” Fora & Fauna is a project by Sjaak Langenberg, had it’s kick off on November 6th. Leading up to and being part of Yes Naturally 16 biologists, philosophers and writers will embody the identities of Potter’s steer, a mosquito, spermatozoid, a vacuum cleaner, the rhinovirus and the ancient plant sort tweeblaarkanniedood via Twitter and Facebook. The writers met at the Artis Library to discuss and prepare their metamorphosis.
Tijs Goldschmidt, guest writer for the Artis Library, presented the pros and cons of human attempts to assume animal identities. Erik van Tuijn, project coordinator from the digital media department of the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag, opened up the social media biotope with impressive examples of fictional characters. You can follow Fora & Fauna now via Twitter and Facebook where you can also see a photo report of the Artis gathering. See how Vrouwkje Tuinman impersonating a slug twittering: I laid 500 eggs this morning. Now you all can get back to your topic #aging population.

Calling for Articles of Faith
Wed, Feb 20, 2013
Yes Naturally is calling for self-made ‘Articles of Faith’ (Afvalhelden). These are mascots, talismans or fetishes made from discarded materials. A collection of these Articles of Faith will form a floating artwork in the pond of the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag. This total work of art is an idea of the Philippine artist-duo Aquilizan. Their idea is inspired by traditional religions that make fetishes to protect rainforests from logging destruction.
If you feel inspired yourself to make something from a vacuum cleaner hose, old bicycle parts, water cookers, umbrellas and other discarded materials, please be our guest and make a fetish! Articles of Faith can be turned in at the GEM on Wednesday January 23rd and Wednesday February 20th between 14.00 and 17.00. Click here for further details!! We’ll also have a stand at the RAW Art Fair Rotterdam.

Ministry sees Yes Naturally as a Green Deal
Yes Naturally was awarded with the Green Deal on October 11th by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation. The Ministry uses this label to promote sustainability initiatives. The Ministry supports and facilitates Green Deals by making it easier to get permits or by bringing interesting people together. Green Deals ensure greater economic growth, jobs and income in combination with sustainability. Yes Naturally doesn’t really like labels, but we’re proud with this recognition!
